Book guides grew out of my love for book discussions. When I sit down to discuss a book with a group of students, I always have plenty of notes, along with a dog-eared, post-it filled book by my side. And at the same time, I have a goal in mind: the kids talk, I listen. No two book discussions are alike. I want the students to find their own important quotes, ask their own questions, and try their best to answer them. Yet I also find that it is helpful for me to guide sometimes, ask deeper questions, ponder “and why do you think that?” Each book guide is unique, as it is developed (but always a work in progress) for each book and so much depends on my inspiration as I read and discuss. Sometimes you will find writing ideas, journal topics, project inspiration, and themes to explore, along with quotes, questions, and favorite moments.
*Please note, I am happy to take requests for Book Guides (drop me a line on my Contacts page) BUT I only write about books that I LOVE and use with book discussions or hope to use in the future.
